Durable Hardwax Oil with Added Slip Resistance

Osmo Polyx®-Oil Anti-Slip is a specialist hardwax oil designed to provide enhanced slip resistance while maintaining the natural look and feel of wood.

Based on natural plant oils and waxes, it penetrates deeply into the timber to create a durable, breathable surface that will not crack, peel or flake. It offers the same trusted protection as Polyx®-Oil Original, with the added benefit of certified slip resistance — making it ideal for areas where additional safety is required.

Perfect for residential and light commercial spaces where reducing slip risk is important, including entrances, kitchens, staircases and public areas.

Understanding R9 vs R11 Slip Ratings

Polyx®-Oil Anti-Slip is available in two certified slip resistance classes:

R9 – Moderate Slip Resistance

2088 Clear Semi-Matt (R9)

  • Suitable for normal residential use

  • Ideal for living areas, bedrooms and domestic staircases

  • Provides improved grip while maintaining a smooth, natural feel

R11 – Higher Slip Resistance

3089 Clear Satin (R11)

  • Higher level of slip resistance

  • Suitable for higher traffic or more demanding environments

  • Recommended for entrances, kitchens, commercial areas or spaces where extra grip is required

In simple terms:
R11 provides more grip than R9, making it the safer option where slip risk is higher.

Coverage & Application

  • Coverage: Approx. 24m² per litre per coat

  • Recommended application: 2 thin coats

  • Drying time: Approx. 8–10 hours between coats

  • Apply by brush or roller

Thin, even application is essential to achieve both durability and the correct slip resistance performance.
